Working on the 3rd edition of Bouldering in Ireland

I haven’t been bouldering much the last few years, but have started to get back into it ove rthe last few weeks. It’s hard to ease back into it, bouldering is a young person’s pursuit in many ways, but I’m getting there with plenty of aches and pains along the way.

So having been in Glendalough quite a bit I have started taking photos and trying to organise and understand the bouldering there. I’ve made good progress but still need to make about a half dozen visits before it finished. And that’s only one area of one county ,so the finished 3rd edition of Bouldering in Ireland is a way off.

Updating Exploring Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way

I’m also putting the finishing touches on the 3rd edition of Exploring Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way which is currently out of print. We are adding a significant number of pages, 48,which will cover a lot more food and accommodation options. We are also adding coverage of the Shannon Estuary Way and the Causeway Coast. And will be updating the cover, it’s always tricky settling on the image, but we have started the process.

The Island in August

In mid-August I made a busy trip to the island with plenty of comings and goings I didn’t make much progress on the roof, but it was great to have plenty of visitors. Read the short blog post here.

Bonus gravel route Slieve Aughty, County Clare/Galway

As the unfortunate situation with regard to cycling on Coillte’s forest roads looks to continue for the foreseeable future I’ve been posting on the blog a few of the routes that didn’t make it into the 2nd edition of Cycling in Ireland. The latest route explores the Slieve Aughty mountains on the Clare/Galway border.
