The Dillon’s Park chapter of the bouldering guide

I’ve been working on the 3rd edition of the bouldering guide – on and off – for years. It’s never been my main focus, rather it has just been something that I did the occasional day on. However, I’ve realised that I do actually want to get it done at some point in time and therefore need to focus on it a bit more.

Dillon’s Park in Killiney is a nice little venue in a great location beside the sea. A relatively new climbing area, which only exists thanks to the local tidy towns who did a massive job clearing the vegetation and exposing the rock. It was popular with climbers post-Covid, but doesn’t appear to see much traffic lately and the vegetation is starting to make its way back.

Hopefully putting out the guide will encourage a few people to check it out.

The guidebook will be very different from the 2013 edition. Much more comprehensive for one, a larger page format and a much more detailed approach to documenting the problems.

I’m keen to get feedback on the specifics of each area and the general approach, so will share some chapters as they get finished or nearly finished.
