After far too long I have finally got the Scalp chapter of the new guide to a point where I’m happy to share it. Obviously, it isn’t 100% finished, there are still a few things I need to clarify and I also need to add the action shots, but there is enough to (a) help people find the problems (b) get feedback on the the specifics of the Scalp and the general approach.

While I haven’t included every single boulder problem that has been climbed and claimed, there has been some truly ridiculous stuff done, I have included quite a lot. This is a reflection of the fact that it’s very popular area.

The new guide will be 210x17mm, significantly larger than the previous editons which were landscape A5.  In this edition I will be using more photos topos, which while requiring more space, give the best possible sense of where problems go.

Anyway, I would really appreciate any feedback on the guide as well as the specifics of the Scalp. Also if anyone has any good photos please get in touch.
